This Full Scholarship to M.A.R.S. was established in 2004 in honor of
professional photographer Robert F. Young, Jr. of Silver Spring, Md.
Robert’s distinguished career spanned more than fifty years and
included executive portraiture, photojournalism, commercial photography
and service as a Navy photographer aboard the USS Pocono. While working
as the University Photographer at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.,
Young photographed U.S. Presidents, heads of state, world leaders and entertainers
for release to worldwide and local media. Robert was also responsible for
establishing the Photographic Communications Consortium for professional
photographers working in the Washington, D.C. area.

fellow professional photographers, selected the Robert F. Young Jr. Memorial
